The Fire Prism is basically a 'Falcon' Eldar Grav-Tank with metal conversion pieces for the main weapon. Apart from the weapon assembly, the kit goes together just like the Falcon & this results in a small drawback: the metal weapon is quite heavy for the support shaft, making it a bit fiddly to build and tending to 'dip' if a little extra care isn't taken when assembling the shaft. The plastic weapon pieces are left over for the 'bits box'. Overall a nice attactive model even though it's based on the ageing Falcon. The whole Eldar tank range is a great bit of design even though it isn't as modifiable as the latest Space Marine range.
Positive: The model fits very well into the Eldar range aesthetically and is suitably alien & 'advanced'. Could be built to use interchangeable weapon turrets although this isn't a standard feature.
Negative: The metal pieces of the prism need a bit of filling to get them to line up correctly, otherwise the joint between the two halves is glaringly obvious. A bit of 'mould spring' means that the upper hull has to be held in placefirmly while the glue dries.
Value: The inclusion of the metal conversion adds £2 to the basic kit price, making it quite good value over the Falcon on it's own.
