Forgeworld produce an increasingly diverse range of 'detail' components designed to compliment the existing main range of plastic vehicles from Games Workshop. These sets are basically 'conversion kits' that contain additional or replacement parts cast in resin.
The Space Wolves Land Raider doors replace the two side doors and the upper front hulll door in the basic plastic kit.
The resin doors are highly detailed with Space Wolf chapter icons , customising the basic vehicle with vitually no extra effort.
The pieces are accurate, with only a little cleaning up of mould lines along the sides necessary to make them fit.
Positive: High level of detail with no moulding errors on such fine components. There's even more detail on the back for the 'open door' model option.
Negative: none to speak of, although the castings show evidence of a little cross joint in the mould, something I've seen on all the Forgeworld products I own. A skilled modeller shouldn't have any problems.
Value: At £3 per door, not bad value for money considering the specialist nature of resin pieces. Vindicated by the quality of the Icon sculpture.
