This model is constructed of hard, somewhat brittle, polystyrene plastic. Surface detail is crisp, but in some places mould release pin marks are obvious and should be filled carefully so as not to spoil this detail. Construction is simple, but lack of definite locations means that some parts, particularly the turret walls, need care in assembly.
The tracks are 'link and length' and fit together well for this scale. Care must be taken when assembling the suspension arms, as these are fragile, and there is no positive location for the idler mounts. These must be placed at the top of the lower (sloping) rear hull plate although this is not clear on the instructions. If these are even slightly out of place ( as they are on my model) then you will not have enough track links to fill the extra run needed. I got these no more than 1/8" too high and was about 3 links short, luckily hard to see under the mudguard.
All in all, despite slight criticisms which could equally be applied to most of the large number of 'Eastern Block' kits that are now coming onto the market, this is a good model of an unusual subject, and I have no regrets about buying it.
NB: This model currently costs £8.75 from Hannants, although I found mine much cheaper on eBay!
