Total Model is very easy to navigate. We have used a very simple,
generic navigation system which is repeated throughout the site and
which is very easy to learn.
 The
most important navigational aid on this site doesn't even look like
a link. The Total Model sprue™, however, is just that! It appears
on almost every single page on the site. Whenever you click on it,
you will be transported to the front door of the Total Model website.
Rule #1, therefore, is: if you ever get lost - hit the sprue!
As you browse through Total Model, you will encounter 4 separate navigation
menus. This may sound like a lot, but not every menu appears on every
page. Instead of employing a complicated, multi-tiered navigation
system, on Total Model you will only ever see the links that you actually
need. This ensures your passage through the site is as simple and
fuss-free as possible.
 The
first menu appears on every single page on the site. It runs horizontally
across the very top of this and all other pages. The links on this
menu provide you with direct access to the main News Pages on Total
Model. If you wish to read the news regarding Military Models - for
example - you would click the Military Models link. The same is true
of the other links. The Home link takes you back to the main News
page.
 The
second most important menu appears on the left-hand side of most pages.
It provides access to many of the main features of the site, including
our Forums,
Links
Database and Classified
Ad's facility. It also enables you to visit the Manufacturer's
Showcase,
where you will find images produced by the various model companies
featured on the site and the User
Gallery - in which you can upload images of your own work.
NB: Due to space limitations, this menu does not appear on every page.
 The
two menus described above never change. Their links remain the same
regardless of the page on which they are found. The remaining menus,
however, are exactly the opposite. Their links are page dependant.
The first of these menus can be found below the main Total Model logo.
This horizontal menu only ever shows links to pages that are directly
related to the page you are viewing.
 The
final menu only appears on a few pages and can be found in the right-hand
margin. Again, the links listed here are page dependent. Often you
will encounter a long list of links - some written in bold type, others
in a smaller font which is underlined. The bold link provides
access to the page indicated - which is usually the top page in one
of the main sections of the site. The smaller links provide shortcuts
to the articles posted within that section.
 There
is a final, fifth menu, which doesn't require much in the way of an
explanation. The drop-down menu pictured on the left is simply a list
of every company listed on the Total Model website. Each entry is
a link to the page of the company indicated.
