Eldar
This month I'm showcasing a small selection of my 40k work.
Eldar are my recently completed 40k army, with a strong blue and white theme running throughout the army.
The hardest part to painting the army (except the banshees) was painting all the helmets white. Each helmet has been painted with around 8 layers of watered down skull white. Many of you will want to know the quick way to doing this... well paint a base coat of codex grey first then 2 layers of white.
One thing you’ll notice with my Eldar is the lack of metallics. I thought being such a sophisticated alien race, they would be past using heavy metals and gold, so I painted all my weapons a very alien green and grey.
The grey was chosen as its such a neutral colour. With an army as diverse as the Eldar, all the squads have different colour armour, so rather then introduce another colour (such as bone) I thought i’d use grey to tie in all the squads and not to detract from the squads main colours.
Tyranids
Below is a Red Terror. You’ll be seeing more snipets of the ‘nids’ as its my next army on the books. Can’t wait to get started on my 2 forgeword Hive Tyrants!
