The Quartermaster General
I've been wargaming now since 1986 where I joined a very good wargames
club at RAF Gutersloh in Germany. My start in wargaming was very up
and down. In the first competition I played in I came last in micro
modern with a grand score of -44000 yes that is a minus. However my
saving grace was winning the fantasy painting competition! I enjoyed
three good years of wargaming at RAF Gutersloh where we staged a number
of large games including Warhammer, micro modern and Napoleonics.
Since those early years I have continued to enjoy wargaming and have
played in a number of competitions including the world cup in Paris,
though with a little more success. Nowdays I tend to put most of my
effort into developing software for use in wargaming bringing together
my love of wargames and playing around on my PC.
The Quartermaster General was first established in September of 2000
as a wargames painting service backed up with approx 15 years of experience
of wargaming and figure painting to competition winning standard.
We have covered many periods historical and fantasy, ancient and modern
building up a large gallery of images along the way.
Since
the launch of QMG in 2000 it has expanded to producing scenery for
wargaming in WWII NW Europe and software especially developed for
wargames. Currently there is a small range of scenery featuring mini
scenics like sandbagged enplacements and pillboxes which we hope to
continue to expand in the future. Software development has increasingly
become our main area of interest and our first software package, the
PBI II Army List Creator has just been released. This project came
about as there was no software available at the time that would allow
us to quickly and easily produce army lists for PBI which is played
regularly by QMG and local players. We will soon begin work on our
next project; an army list creator for the DBM ancient's rules system
which we hope to have ready by the end of the year.
NB: The PBI rules are produced by RFCM and are available from the
Peter
Pig.
