Model Aces
Visit our world of professionally built models. Scale replicas that will take you back on a historical journey of military flight. Model Aces is located in beautiful Toronto Canada, where the four corners of the world meet in art and culture.
I specialize in WWII aircraft [1/48 and 1/32 scale]. Take notice that although my models are not highly priced, quality and attention to detail are not sacrificed. Yes, my models are exceptionally well built with outstanding detail. Take a second and explore our galley section, where finesse and detail meet through these historically accurate scale models. We have built for collectors, museums and even original perticipants of the Great War.
Every model I build receives the same care. For that, I spend time studying the aircraft, its history and its operation before I begin assembling it. I use a high quality Paasche airbrush together with an Iwata compressor. I utilize Tamiya primers (primer paints are used after joints are seated as well as possible), Tamiya acrylic paints, Model Master enamels and Gunze paints on all my scale replicas.
Weathering and dry brushing is applied on interior parts such as cockpits and engines as well as the exterior of the aircraft. This is applied after the last coat in order to seal the decals. A coat of Future floor wax is applied to every aircraft prior to decal application allowing the model to accept the decals well. I then use special setting solution to soften the decal so it can sit well along the surface of the aircraft making it look like its part of the paint job. I then seal the entire aircraft with a choice of gloss or dull coat - usually its dull coat - to seal the decals.
Hope to see you at www.modelaces.com.
