Gareth's Miniatures
I’ve been painting Games Workshop products since the age of 12, and have had a healthy interest in art and design since mid teens, where I studied it at school and then college. Now at the age of 22, i’m a qualified Graphic Designer who works for a London based Design and Print Company.
I recently got back into painting models, when I felt all my creative flair was being wasted on a computer, and I felt I needed to paint, so I purchased a few models from NU Gaming, which I painted and then emailled the pictures to the owner just to get some feedback.
He liked them so much, I was asked to paint models for his online store, as Games Workshop had requested him to take down all images of their painted models, as it was a copyright infringment.
 So I now paint part time for Nu Gaming, I also cut the images out and re size them. I have access to the images which allowed me to build up an online portfollio of work, which is continuously growing and is currently at the time of writing has 56 high quality images. All images are clear, close up and really allow you to appreciate the detail.
I’ve been approached by Games workshop staff to fill out an application form to become a freelance figure painter for White Dwarf magazine. Which I’ve done and they’ve put me on record, for future vacancies. I’ve also been approached by several other online distributors of Games workshop products. And occasionally do the odd job for commission.
One of my biggest jobs for NU Gaming was to paint the entire TFT industries terrain range from scratch, take photos and supply product shots all in just 2 weeks!!! I got it done and the images of these beautiful resin terrain pieces can only be seen at NU Gaming as can other examples of my work.
