Hi Folks,
Welcome to this weeks news bulletin from ‘Alpha Forge Games’. This time round we have a number of exciting announcements.
First off – we’ll shortly be releasing the first minis in our NEW FANTASY line of 28mm miniatures. Called the ‘Dark Tribes of the Abyss’ ™ range – they will be primarily designed for our forthcoming game of the same name.
However, these great minis also will make interesting and unique encounters for any fantasy role playing game you and your local RPG buddies might be playing!
Here a few WIP shots of some of the minis from the first tribe.
These creatures are the goblins from the deep. Called the ‘Yagamuna’, they have lived for so many generations far below the surface. The absence of any light has made their eyes de-evolve making them blind. They use sonar, like bats, to find their way around in the darkness of the abyss.
Intrepid adventuring groups exploring in the distant depths for ancient artifacts have returned with tales of ambush by these strange creatures. Survivors have returned with equipment they have collected from dead Yagamuna killed in these frightening encounters. The unusual designs and sophisticated workmanship indicate they are more than just a primitive tribe.
These minis will be accompanied by other members of the Yagamuna tribe, including a shaman and a champion! The greens are being made right now and should be completed within two weeks. After that we’ll not waste any time molding and casting up a stock!!
We have plans for more tribes in the near future so watch this space. We’re also working on more minis for our 28mm Sci-Fi combat game Star Mogul: Ruins of an Empire’ ™ alongside all this (phew!).
Secondly – we’re getting some fantastic entries for our painting and modeling competition ‘The Great Salvage Run 2006’, and its proving to be a lot of fun! We’re giving away some great prizes to the TWO winners – including a very rare Alpha Forge games PROTOTYPE model of the ‘Gorgon’ reconnaissance fighter. (Only 6 of these babies exist, they will never be put into production – and yes – we’re giving two away as prizes to our fans! But the deadline for initial entries is drawing close, you only have a few days – so if you wish to enter the competition act now!
