| During the World War II the United States Navy (in particular) revolutionised the use of landing craft. These rudimentary, flat bottomed ships were designed to deliver soldiers on to the beech as quickly as possible. Some of the most successful craft were the LCIs - or Landing Craft Infantry. | It's a busy time for Scottish military model company, Milicast, as they plow ahead with ever more new releases. Visitors to this site will be aware that the company has undergone something of a transformation throughout 2005 during which time they have launched an entirely new range of vehicle kits. Not so very long ago Milicast concentrated solely upon producing highly detailed kits for model enthusiasts. Now they also develop models for wargamers.
