Spriggan Miniatures
Spriggan Miniatures was created by myself, Paul Reid in 2005 as an outlet for my range of 28mm science fiction aliens, the 'Spugs'.
What started as a hobby project, met with such approval from the gaming community, that I decided to use my experience as a mould maker and caster for Ral Partha Europe to take them into production. My aim is to produce innovative,characterful miniatures that are fun to paint and reasonably priced. It's a one man operation at the moment, I sculpt, make the moulds and cast the miniatures myself.
The first range to be released by Spriggan are the Spugs- a range of insectoid, hi-tech aliens.
"The colonists who first encountered the Alien menace called them Space Bugs, because of their insect like appearance. Indeed, they fell upon world after world like locusts, stripping a planet of its' useful resources before moving on, or claiming it as a hive world. In time, when human forces had marshaled sufficient resistance and the xenobiologists had examined specimens, they were indexed as species XENO-00237/hostile. To the infantry grunt they were simply SPUGs."
Several types of basic trooper are currently available, together with power armoured troops and a large multipart Exosuit kit. I'm working on fleshing out the range to create plenty of variety in the basic miniatures, aswell as some more exotic one off pieces, such as small vehicles and weapon platforms, to make a complete Spug army viable. Due to popular demand, future projects will include the Spugs in 15mm.
