Ragnarok
Ragnarok is the magazine of the Society of Fantasy and Science Fiction Wargamers (SFSFW), an international body dedicated to promoting fantasy and science fiction wargaming and helping gamers share their games, founded in 1992.
Ragnarok publishes an eclectic range of articles, including complete new game rules, and adaptations and scenarios for a wide range of different game systems, both mainstream and obscure. The magazine and the society are independent, and run by gamers on a not-for-profit basis.
Recent issues have included articles using Aeronef, AirWar: C21, Chain Reaction 2.0, Dirtside 2, Epic Armageddon, Futbowel, Future Wars, Guns and Girls, Hordes of the Things, the Lord of the Rings, Panzerfauste, Power Projection, Spearhead, Strange Tydes, Trash Tokyo, Warhammer 40,000 and Warmaster.
Every issue carries several thorough, in-depth reviews of games and rules, and many pages of reviews of miniatures, as well as the most comprehensive news service of any magazine out there.
Single issues of Ragnarok are sold by North Star Figures at £3.9. Six-issue subscriptions are available by joining the Society for £18, 30€, US$30, AU$50, CAN$40 or 4,000 Yen.
Members also receive discounts from a range of manufacturers and retailers, as well as free admission to the Society’s annual show, Bifrost, held each summer in the English Midlands.
The Society aims to publish six issues of Ragnarok every year, but usually misses. However, all membership benefits remain in place until the full subscription is met.
