Newbold Enterprises
Newbold Enterprises is a small family business established in 2001
to create a fantasy setting to form the backdrop for a series of novels,
short stories, games and a range of fantasy figures which will be
produced over the coming months and years.
Newbold World is an area of deep space centred around the conflux of three adjacent galaxies. The stories will follow the fortunes of eight sentient species who inhabit three loosely linked planets, one in each galaxy. By the time of the stories the three planets have long since lost contact with each other.
The planet Kendo is a medieval/early renaissance setting, rich in magic, and its inhabitants originally colonized the other two planets. By contrast New Kendo, a planet with little discernible magic, has progressed steadily and is now in the early stages of its first industrial revolution (a horse and musket era). And finally Far Kendo has progressed most rapidly of the three and is a high tech world with star drive capability.
Our initial priority is to create a range of high quality 28mm pewter figures for the planet Kendo intended to be of interest to collectors and figure painters as well as wargamers. Once this core range of miniatures has been established we intend to release a related campaign level boardgame and a set of wargames rules. We will then repeat the process for the other two planets. The figures shown here have been sculpted by Jim Scully and Bill Tyson and painted by Darren Matthews.
