Brigade Models is a small company formed 10 years ago but three gamers to market models they had produced themselves for their games. The main interest is in all things sci-fi, including spaceships, vehicles and lastly, but not least, aeronef. Over the years each range has grown not just in the number of models, but also in scale, so that our 6mm sci-fi vehicle range is being translated into 15mm.

We have also had a very successful partnership with 2 rules producers – Wessex Games and Majestic 12 Games. They have both provided rules sets that we have produced models for.


The larger ranges in more detail:


Aeronef
Wessex Games released their Aeronef rules in early 1999. They are set in an alternate history in the late 19th Century when the aircraft has been invented several decades earlier than the Wright Brothers actually managed. The nations and empires of the world battle for supremacy of the skies in giant aerial ships known as Aeronefs, lighter-than-air dirigibles ('Digs') and small fighter and bomber aircraft.

The rules are quick play, pretty straight forward, and there are plenty of hits to keep the gamer interested. A supplement, The Captain’s Handbook, has also been published to enhance the basic set of rules.

Brigade Models now produces over 100 models to compliment the rules, covering many nationalities wrapped up in the late 19 th Century world.

The models are also packaged into convenient packs, including starter packs, which make it easier to get your nation of the ground.


Spaceships
Our models are fully compatible with all major spaceship rule sets. However, Majestic 12 Games have published a version of their Starmada rules tailored specifically to our models and complete with profiles and stats for all of our warships in production at the moment. We now carry stocks of both Starmada X: Brigade and the earlier, non-Brigade specific Starmada Compendium.

The basic rules are very simple. Appendices add options, but even "more complicated" rules are, fundamentally, kept simple, so the increase in complexity created by adding a rule is very, very small. Adding all the options makes a medium-complexity war game that is still very easy to play. The background information in the SX:B rules matches the background used in the 6mm sci-fi vehicle range below. The rule set also contains a section enabling the player to design their own ships. With on-line guides to help this really is a comprehensive set of rules.

Again, Brigade produce over 100 spaceship models of all types, including bugs. Easy to start packs are available as well.



6mm Sci-fi Vehicles
Our 1/300th vehicles (or 6mm, depending on the terminology you prefer) range is aimed at Wessex Games' Iron Cow universe. We've modelled not only the vehicles in the rulebook, but we've also extended the range of forces available to the commanders of each nation.

In keeping with Wessex’s style, the rules are fast play and simple and are specifically aimed at armour battles rather than grunts.

The model range covers over 120 models with 8 different nationalities. As is consistent, army/starter packs are available to make purchasing easier.


And Finally…

The future? Well, who knows, current projects are:
