Accurate Armour
Accurate Armour Ltd is a family run Scottish business based in Port
Glasgow, situated on the Clyde Estuary near Greenock. We are a small
local employer in an area once famous for building fine ships.
The business was founded in 1987, with the aim of producing quality models of interesting and unusual military subjects, and we now produce over 100 full model kits. Complementary products such as conversions, accessories, decals, and diorama products have also been introduced, so providing a wide and well balanced range. Further track and figure products are contained in our TRAKPAX and TANK TROOPS ranges, and we also produce a spectacular series of museum quality models which includes submarines, rockets and larger scale AFV's.
All models are researched using original sources, and where possible, a surviving example. We have comprehensive reference sources, backed up by friends, enthusiasts, AFV hobby organisations, museums, and vehicle collectors World-wide. For equipment's presently in service we liaise closely with the Army, MoD and the original manufacturer. This research phase may take years to finish.
 The master models are made by researchers and pattern makers who rank amongst the best in the World. In addition to master models made by AA staff, including myself and Designer Rob Tearle, we also have many excellent designs from top ranking pattern makers, such as Jon Bottomley, David Jane, Kay Struckmeirer, Tim Babb and Phil Hendry. Many projects are a team effort, but we also feature models from other freelance designers and we welcome quality work from all sources.
As active modellers ourselves we are committed to quality, and value for money products. As Research & Design director, I am tasked with ensuring that our products are designed and engineered to the highest standards possible using the information and materials available.
