Scale modellers the world over will be familiar
with the name of Milicast and their huge range of 1:76th scale models.
The company - based in Scotland - have been manufacturing resin kits for
years, amassing a product catalogue in excess of 300 different items along
the way. Such experience ensures Milicast remain one the most highly respected
model developers in the industry today.
Although Milicast manufacture vehicles in 1:76th scale, they should not
be confused with items produced solely for the wargaming market. Every model
in the Milicast range comes in the form of a comprehensive kit which - once
assembled - will create a scale replica of the protypical vehicle. Many
kits feature turned aluminium barrels and/or etched brass components.
As well as developing one of the largest product lines of its kind anywhere
in the world - the Milicast catalogue is also one of the most diverse. They
often produce rare or unfamiliar vehicles which other manufacturers simply ignore. The company are also noted for the range of different vehicle
variants which they tackle. The ubiquitous GMC 2.5 ton truck, for example,
is available in no less than 12 different flavours!
This competition is now closed. It was won by Wally Harwood from Okanagan Falls in Canada who correctly identified that the sum total of the reference numbers was 133, as shown below:
- Vehicle 1 = Cromwell = Ref# UK34
- Vehicle 2 = Sherman "Jumbo" = Ref# US03
- Vehicle 3 = Nashorn = Ref# G96
- Total = 133
